Here's how to save your money...
- Open up a savings account at your bank and have at least $5.00 per week transferred to the account automatically by your bank.
- If you are trying to save your money for a specific purpose stop making impulse purchases. Every time you are at a store and are about to make an impulse purchase remind yourself what you are saving for and keep that goal in mind.
- Take a close look at all the places you spend money. There are always way to spend less. You can save money on...
- Your electric bill. Turn off all lights, computers and audio/video equipment when not in use.
- Your gas bill. Drive a little slower and do not accelerate too quickly from stop signs.
- Your grocery bill. Use coupons, buy store brands, buy in bulk.
- Your power bill. Replace light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs.
- Your cable bill. Choose a lower cost subscription plan and cancel unwatched premium channels.
- Your cell phone bill. Shop around and only pay for minutes that you are likely to use.
- Your mortgage. Refinance at a lower rate.
- Your car insurance. Call your agent and ask if you can get the same coverage at a lower cost, raise your deductibles.
